Star system features
g Star B orbits Star A in a clockwise orbit (which is nearly perpendicular to the orbital plane of transiting planet HD 189733 b) at about 216 AU once every 3,200 years
Known planets
g A: Planet b, with a mass of 113% Jupiter, orbits star every 2.21857 days at a distance of 0.03 AU. The planet’s temperature is about 1,832 F. Temperatures on the day and night sides of the world differ by about 500 degrees Fahrenheit, causing the strong winds to blow. Methane, carbon dioxide and significant amounts of water vapor exist in atmosphere. The nearness of the planet to the star causes the star to spin up, activating a strong magnetic dynamo of the star that produces the observed strong X-ray coronal emissions and large starspots. Its color is a deep cobalt blue. Raging storms of sidwways glass rain and 4350 mph winds encompass the planet. See illustrations of planet.
