Star system features
g A: Began life as a class A3 dwarf just a bit less massive than the classic A stars Sirius and Vega. It then spent 1.83 billion years fusing its internal hydrogen. After the hydrogen was gone, the star cooled to its present state in a mere 30 million years, just 1.6 percent of its overall lifetime. It will now expand and brighten hundreds of times until it initiates the fusion of its core helium into carbon and oxygen, after which it will settle down as a true giant.
g B: At least as of 2008, this “companion” star is thought to be a mere line-of-sight coincidence.

Sci-fi mentions
g A: Known as "Caleb" in the "Star Trek" universe, according to "Star Trek Star Charts." The charts book places it on the Federation-Romulan border near Starbase 39 Sierra. At one time, it apparently was on the Federation-Klingon border as Caleb IV was attacked by Kang and Kor during the Kirk-Spock era.
